 Lou-Thesz        LOU THESZ

A six-time world champion, and three time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, Lou Thesz held the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship for a combined 10 years, three months and nine days (3,749 days total), longer than anyone else in history. Among his many remarkable career accomplishments, he is credited with inventing a number of professional wrestling maneuvers and techniques such as the belly to back - waistlock suplex (later known as the German Suplex due to its association with Karl Gotch), the Lou Thesz press, STF and the power bomb. Lou Thesz is generally considered to be among the greatest professional wrestlers of all time and was the first inductee into the National Wrestling Alliance Hall of Fame.

Harley-Race   HARLEY RACE

Known as “King”, Harley Race held the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship a remarkable 8 times. Race is widely considered by many wrestlers, fans, and scholars alike to be the greatest professional wrestler of all time. His career spans three decades where he competed and won major championships in the National Wrestling Alliance, World Championship Wrestling, the American Wrestling Association, All Japan Pro Wrestling and the World Wrestling Federation now (WWE). Harley Race was the first NWA United States Champion, he was a WWE King of the Ring winner in 1986, and he has been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, WCW Hall of Fame, Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame, Wrestling Observer Hall of Fame and the NWA Hall of Fame. Harley Race is a once in a lifetime talent and has served as an inspiration to many professional wrestlers and sports entertainers.



This visionary leader was responsible for establishing the National Wrestling Alliance, which grew into the world’s largest governing body of Professional Wrestling. Sam Muchnick served as the President of the National Wrestling Alliance from 1950 to 1960 and again from 1963 to 1975. The other promoters within the NWA immensely trusted Muchnick, and under his leadership the National Wrestling Alliance would donate thousands of dollars to the U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team. Muchnick also produced the legendary Wrestling at the Chase from St. Louis, which ran for almost 25 years from 1959 to 1983. Without Sam Muchnick there would not be a National Wrestling Alliance.




Once owner of Georgia Championship Wrestling, Jim Barnett is considered a Wrestling Television Innovator and one of the most successful and controversial promoters in the history of the NWA. Barnett served in an advisory role to WCW after Ted Turner assumed control of World Championship Wrestling. Barnett was inducted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in 1996 and takes his place among the legends of the National Wrestling Alliance as a member of the class of 2005.




Widely considered one of the great professional wrestling commentators of all time, Gordon Solie was a beautiful mix of Walter Cronkite and Howard Cosell. He is known for his intelligent commentary and smooth delivery on the broadcast. Gordon Solie was selected as the PWI Announcer of the Year in 1977, named Wrestling Observer’s Best Television Announcer 1981-1983, was inducted into the WCW Hall of Fame in 1995 and inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008. Solie’s list of accomplishments and his impact on the history of the golden age of wrestling and on the future of wrestling announcers is immesurable. A member of the NWA Hall of Fame class of 2005, Gordon Solie: one of the greatest announcers to ever live.







Promoter, booker, commentator, ring announcer and manager, Jim Cornette has played parts in different eras of professional wrestling while wearing nearly every hat imaginable. Perhaps best known for his Smoky Mountain Wrestling promotion which he started in 1991, Jim Cornette also had a brief stay with World Class Championship Wrestling managing the Midnight Express. Cornett played a pivotal role in helping lift NWA TNA Wrestling to prominence from 2006 to 2009 where he served as the new face of NWA TNA management.
