HOUSTON, TX, SEPTEMBER 9, 2008: The Houston law firm of Walker &
Crawford, P.C. announced today that as of September1, 2008, they have more than
doubled the number of personal injury and automobile accident lawsuits filed by their
offices in 2007. New partner Jeff Crawford attributes this to insurance company’s
refusal to fairly settle claims filed against their policy holders. “Insurance companies
feel they have juries in their pocket but we will continue to fight them to assure
our clients of consistently fair settlements.” He adds, “Propaganda from insurance
companies found on everything from billboards to direct mail urging consumers to buy
insurance but instilling the fear of ‘what if?’ should they ever actually use it has been
reflected in juries’ decisions across Texas and consumers are quite frankly fed up with
it.” Attorney Crawford is equally distributed by the toll this can take on plaintiffs and
defendants in such cases. “Plaintiffs and defendants are forced to take time off work---
often unpaid---in order to endure the deposition and trial process and deal with an issue
that their insurance companies should have dealt with. Without outside legal help, this
is done with a lawyer or representative from their own insurance company who has
already proven that they do no have their client’s best interests at heart.”
Jim Walker, voted on of Houston’s top personal injury lawyers for three consecutive
years by Inside Houston Magazine, wants the sent the message to insurance companies
that enough is enough. “It’s about time juries understood that people who have been
injured in accidents are not bad people as they are often portrayed to be by insurance
companies. If there is an at-fault party here, it is the insurance companies themselves
who continue to sell intangible products based on fear and then decide not only how but
when it is acceptable to use them.” Walker, whose extensive experience in both
criminal and civil cases involving personal injury, catastrophic injury, wrongful death,
and medical malpractice is sensitive to his client’s needs while being a tough and
effective negotiator when it comes to dealing with insurance companies.
“Insurance is a promise and seldom kept” he says. “If you don’t believe that, ask
hurricane victims along the Gulf Coast. For many of these people, filing a claim with
their insurance company only caused them to be further victimized. At Walker &
Crawford, we will fight FOR you. You have dutifully paid for your insurance which
Earns you the right to be able to use it with out prejudice.”
Walker & Crawford, P.C. is located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Their attorneys
have a combined experience of over 30 years fighting personal injury law. They are
tenacious, committed to their clients, and make it a point to know each client on
a personal level.
